Maybe they've been "lost in translation ?" (there was always a pun in the name of the movie that I didn't get right away... It suits your poem perfectly !)
(Notes: un "have" sur 2 en trop au 4e vers et c'est "destinataire" vers la fin)

J'avais d'abord écrit , 'Maybe they've been saved'.J 'ai oublié d'effacer le 've' après.
Mais le 'destinataire' got lost in translation! rires!
