The EU’s investigation studied 67 trans-Atlantic nonstop and one-stop routes that could be affected by the U.S. airline merger and found that in all other cases, “the combined entity will continue to face competition from other strong competitors.†They include the trans-Atlantic partnerships of Delta Air Lines Inc., and Air France-KLM SA; and of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and United Continental Holdings Inc., the commission said.
