I believe it is essential that the Attorney General’s legal advice for justifying military intervention is also published. Lord Goldsmith’s advice to Tony Blair before the Iraq war was surrounded in controversy as there were accusations that the then Attorney General had been leant on. In an open democracy, I see no reason why transparency should not apply and members of Parliament should be allowed to assess the advice the Prime Minister has been given.
