I don’t recommend the Polo 1.4 DSG as the engine is a bit long in the tooth and there are questions about the DSG transmission. VW has not upgraded it to get the much better combination of 1.2 TSI engine and DSG. She could stick with the VW Group, but go for a Seat Ibiza 1.2 DSG instead. Both are built in Spain, incidentally, so the Polo isn’t particularly German.
